APARTMENT — INTERIOR
Reconstruction of an old 2+1 apartment into a spacious 2-bedroom with a larger bathroom and connected living space. The proposal combines a modern material solution with historical elements of the original solution, such as terrace window sills or e.g. ceramic switches.

INTERIOR
The original layout of the 2+1 apartment with a narrow long corridor and small rooms did not meet the requirements of the clients. The goal of the design was to create a kitchen connected to the living room, a separate bedroom and a comfortable bathroom with a bathtub. That's why we proposed to demolish all non-load-bearing partitions and divide the space into 2kk floor plan. We made the long corridor smaller by moving the bathroom towards the entrance door. This also creates a small entrance hall, which is connected to the living space (living room connected to the kitchen with an island). The bedroom is newly accessible from the living space through a sliding door that can be fully inserted into the casing and thus optically connect the two rooms. In the place of the original bathroom and toilet, a dressing room is designed as a continuation of the bedroom. The basic color concept of the interior is a combination of natural and light shades. Cream tones, light wood/wood decor on the floor and furniture, light terrazzo tiles and painting based on natural limestone pigments Limewash blend naturally in the interior with green color on details and contrasting elements. In the interior, modern materials and elements are in harmony with elements of historic character (ceiling moldings, original renovated radiators, original terrazzo window sill or e.g. porcelain switches).
